Applications for PennDOT Summer Employment Due February 25The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is accepting applications through February 15 for its Summer Maintenance Program. The program is open to fulltime college students who are enrolled for the Fall 2019 semester. Individuals who are interested in learning more about the program can apply online here. State Tax Forms Available NowLocal residents can get a head start on tax filing by picking up the necessary 2018 tax forms at my district office in Lititz. The primary state tax form – the PA-40 Income Tax booklet – is available at my office now, as well as other schedules necessary to complete 2018 tax returns. The deadline to file with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue is April 15, 2019. Additional information regarding state tax filing is available online at the Department of Revenue’s website at www.revenue.state.pa.us. Federal tax forms and instructions are available here. Flu Shots Still AvailableThe Pennsylvania Department of Health is encouraging state residents to get a flu shot if they have not already received one. Although flu season is already in full swing, the vaccine is still effective at helping avoid or diminish the severity of symptoms. Free flu shots are available for individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. More information on how to receive a free flu shot is available here. Applications for Property Tax & Rent Rebates being accepted
The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters, and half of Social Security income is excluded. Claimants must reapply for rebates every year because rebates are based on annual income and property taxes or rent paid in each year. Guidelines & Applications How I Can HelpMy offices provide many services to families in our area. Here are some of the ways we can help.
