Tomlinson Says KOEZ Designation Will Mean New Job Opportunities for Bristol Township

Bristol Township has received approval from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for a Keystone Opportunity Expansion Zone (KOEZ) to help attract new jobs and improve the economy, according to Sen. Tommy Tomlinson (R-Bucks).

Tomlinson said the property at 250 Rittenhouse Circle in Bristol Township has been designated as a KOEZ to revitalize a warehouse facility that has been vacant for two years.  This property will be eligible for KOZ benefits from January 1, 2010 until December 31, 2019. The sales tax exemption is applicable immediately.

"Express Scripts, one of the largest pharmacy benefits managers in the nation, has an interest in relocating to Bristol Township from its current facility in Bensalem," Tomlinson said.  "Designating the KOEZ will provide the company with tax incentives to locate their company to Bristol, bringing jobs and opportunities to an area that needs a boost to its economy."

Tomlinson said the new facility will employ more than 320 people, and Express Scripts plans to create at least 60 new jobs within a year. The company also plans to invest approximately $50 million of its own capital in new equipment and facility improvements.

"This KOZ designation is a huge win for our area and will be a major boost to the economy. I would like to thank Representative Tony Melio for working with me to secure approval. I would also like to thank Bristol Township and the Bucks County Economic Development Corporation, the Bucks County Commissioners and Bristol Township School Board for their support at the local level," Tomlinson said.  "By encouraging the reuse of the facility we can keep good jobs in Bucks County and improve the facility."
