Sen. Tomlinson Urges Constituents to Apply for Financial Aid
Senator Tommy Tomlinson (R-Bucks) is urging students and parents in his
district who are considering higher education next year to complete financial
aid applications by this Friday, May 1 – when the deadline ends.
The Pennsylvania State Grant program provides grants to eligible Pennsylvania
residents who are in need of financial aid to attend PHEAA-approved
postsecondary institutions.
"These grants are essential to providing students and families with the
assistance they need in order to fund their college education," Tomlinson said.
"With college costs rising, financial aid can make a crucial difference in
helping students realize their dreams."
Last year, PHEAA gave away an estimated sum of $435,223,477 in grants. The
average award was $3,193 per person. Applicants for the state grants need
to have already completed the FAFSA. For more information, including the various
types of funding, please visit
www.pheaa.org or stop by Sen. Tomlinson's office.
