Bucks County Receives State Funding To Reduce Coastal PollutionHARRISBURG – The Bucks County Conservation District will receive a $25,000 grant to help protect coastal waters from non-point source pollution, according to Sen. Tommy Tomlinson (R-Bucks). Sen. Tomlinson said that the grant will be used to conduct public outreach and education about not-point pollution. Non-point source pollution can result from urban runoff, agriculture, marinas and recreational boating, and hydromodification. "This program allows us to educate the public on how to protect vital resources, which is a very important objective for our area," Sen. Tomlinson said. The grant was awarded by the state Department of Environmental Protection under the federal Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972. CONTACT: Fran Cleaver
