Grant Supports Bristol Township Recycling EffortsHARRISBURG – A $52,000 grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection will support municipal recycling efforts in Bristol Township, according to Sen. Tommy Tomlinson (R-Bucks). The amount of the grant is based on the total tons recycled and the community's overall recycling rate for 2004. Bristol Township recycled more than 3,800 tons in 2004. "Our recycling efforts are an important part of protecting the environment and supporting the state's economy," Tomlinson said. "Bristol Township has a strong recycling program, and I am confident that we can continue to build on this successful program in future years." The Recycling Performance Grant program is administered by the Department of Environmental Protection. Grants are financed by the state Recycling Fund, which is supported by a $2 per ton fee on all materials disposed of in landfills in Pennsylvania. CONTACT: Fran Cleaver
