Grant Applications For Volunteer Firefighters, Ambulance Services Available April 24Applications for Pennsylvania's $25 million grant program for volunteer fire companies and ambulance services will be available April 24, according to Sen. Tommy Tomlinson (R-Bucks). Online applications for the 2005-06 grants will be available for eligible volunteer fire and volunteer ambulance services on the OSFC website. The application period will open at 4:00 p.m. onApril 24 and run until 4:00 p.m. on June 9. No applications will be accepted after this time. Grants to volunteer fire and rescue companies will range from a minimum of $2,500 to a maximum of $15,000. The grants can be used for construction or renovation of the fire company's primary structure; purchase or repair of firefighting, ambulance or rescue equipment; training; or debt reduction. "Our volunteer firefighters and ambulance companies protect our lives and property every day, and they deserve the best equipment and training we can offer," Tomlinson said. "I would encourage all of the volunteer fire and ambulance companies in the area to take advantage of this grant program."
